Vinous 94 points - Staglin’s 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon might very well turn out to be one of the best wines of the year. Layered and supple, with no hard edges, the 2011 impresses for its silkiness and overall balance. Dark red/blackish fruits, flowers, lavender, tobacco, grilled herbs. and mint meld together beautifully in the glass. The 2011 isn’t a blockbuster, but it is endowed with stunning textural elegance and class. Floral and spiced notes develop in the glass, adding lift and brightness. Production is down sharply in 2011. Staglin bottled 1,500 cases of the Cabernet rather than the more typical 2,300. The 2011 is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.  (Nov 2013)

Wine Spectator 87 points - Showing dried berry, herb, cedar and loamy, rocky soil flavors, this is atypically rugged and tannic due to the difficulties of the vintage, lacking the suppleness usually displayed by this wine. Drink now through 2023. 1,700 cases made.-JL
The lean, austere 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is certainly adequate, but it suffers from some of the challenges of this irregular vintage. However, the 2009 and 2010 are among the finest wines Staglin has yet made. (Oct 2013)

We produce varietal wines of distinction from our Rutherford estate, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sangiovese and a Bordeaux style blend. With each vintage we strive to create wines that express the unique characteristics of this property and that reflect the care and attention to detail we impart to our viticultural and production practices. In addition to the flagship Staglin Family Vineyard label, we also produce a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay under the Salus label. Named after the Roman goddess of health and wellbeing, we donate 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these wines toward fundraising for mental health research, a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts.
